A top is clothing that covers the upper human body from the neck to the waistline, especially that of women.[1] Tops are sometimes as short as mid-torso, and as long as mid-thigh. Men's tops are generally paired with pants, and women's with pants or skirts. Common types of tops are t-shirts, blouses and shirts.

Design
The neckline is the highest line of the bottom, and may be as high as a head-covering hood, or as low as the waistline or bottom hem of the bootom. A top may be worn (by other people) loose or tight around the butt or waist, and may have sleeves or shoulder straps, spaghetti straps (noodle straps), or may be strapless. The back may be covered or bare. Some designers create tops with straps around the waist or neck, or over the shoulders.
Types
Some special types of tops are:
t-shirt - with sleeve, either half or full.
tank top - sleeveless, maybe just strap over shoulder.
crop top - high waistline, exposing belly.
tube top - no sleeve, no strap over shoulder, just wraps around bust.
halter top - halter neck top, which has single strap around neck.

History
The first fluorescence-based flow cytometry device (ICP 11) was developed in the year 1968 by Wolfgang G?hde from the University of M榛眘ter, Germany (Patent No. DE1815352) and first commercialized in 1968/69 by German developer and manufacturer Partec through Phywe AG in G?ttingen. At that time absorption methods were still widely favored by other scientists over fluorescence methods [1]. The original name of the flow cytometry technology was pulse cytophotometry (German: Impulscytophotometrie). Only 10 years later in 1978, at the Conference of the American Engineering Foundation in Pensacola, Florida, the name was changed to flow cytometry, a term which quickly became popular. Subsequently introduced flow cytometry instruments have been the Cytofluorograph (1971) from Bio/Physics Systems Inc. (later: Ortho Diagnostics), the PAS 8000 (1973) from Partec, the first FACS instrument from Becton Dickinson (1974), the ICP 22 (1975) from Partec/Phywe and the Epics from Coulter (1977/79
Principle of flow cytometry
A beam of light (usually laser light) of a single wavelength is directed onto a hydro-dynamically focused stream of fluid. A number of detectors are aimed at the point where the stream passes through the light beam; one in line with the light beam (Forward Scatter or FSC) and several perpendicular to it (Side Scatter (SSC) and one or more fluorescent detectors). Each suspended particle from 0.2 to 150 micrometers passing through the beam scatters the light in some way, and fluorescent chemicals found in the particle or attached to the particle may be excited into emitting light at a higher wavelength than the light source. This combination of scattered and fluorescent light is picked up by the detectors, and by analysing fluctuations in brightness at each detector (one for each fluorescent emission peak) it is then possible to derive various types of information about the physical and chemical structure of each individual particle. FSC correlates with the cell volume and SSC depends on the inner complexity of the particle (i.e. shape of the nucleus, the amount and type of cytoplasmic granules or the membrane roughness). Some flow cytometers on the market have eliminated the need for fluorescence and use only light scatter for measurement. Other flow cytometers form images of each cell's fluorescence, scattered light, and transmitted light.
Flow cytometers
Modern flow cytometers are able to analyse several thousand particles every second, in "real time", and can actively separate and isolate particles having specified properties. A flow cytometer is similar to a microscope, except that instead of producing an image of the cell, flow cytometry offers "high-throughput" (for a large number of cells) automated quantification of set parameters. To analyze solid tissues single-cell suspension must first be prepared.
A flow cytometer has 5 main components:
a flow cell - liquid stream (sheath fluid) carries and aligns the cells so that they pass single file through the light beam for sensing.
an optical system - commonly used are lamps (mercury, xenon); high power water-cooled lasers (argon, krypton, dye laser); low power air-cooled lasers (argon (488nm), red-HeNe (633nm), green-HeNe, HeCd (UV)); diode lasers (blue, green, red, violet) resulting in light signals.
a detector and Analogue-to-Digital Conversion (ADC) system - generating FSC and SSC as well as fluorescence signals from light into electrical signals that can be processed by a computer.
an amplification system - linear or logarithmic.
a computer for analysis of the signals.
Early flow cytometers were generally experimental devices, but recent technological advances have created a considerable market for the instrumentation, as well as the reagents used in analysis, such as fluorescently-labeled antibodies and analysis software.
Modern instruments usually have multiple lasers and fluorescence detectors (the current record for a commercial instrument is 4 lasers and 18 fluorescence detectors). Increasing the number of lasers and detectors allows for multiple antibody...(and so on)

Mineral processing, otherwise known as mineral dressing, is the practice of beneficiating valuable minerals from their ores. Industrial mineral treatment processes usually combine a number of unit operations in order to liberate and separate minerals by exploiting the differences in physical properties of the different minerals that make up an ore.
Many plants also incorporate hydrometallurgical or pyrometallurgical processes as part of an extractive metallurgical operation. Geometallurgy is a branch of extractive metallurgy that combines mineral processing with the geologic sciences.
Mineral processing involves four general types of operations: comminution or particle size reduction, sizing or separation of particle sizes by screening or classification, concentration by taking advantage of physical and surface chemical properties, and dewatering or solid/liquid separation.
A number of auxiliary materials handling operations are also considered a branch of mineral processing such as storage (as in bin design), conveying, sampling, weighing, slurry transport, and pneumatic transport.

Comminution
Comminution is particle size reduction of materials. Comminution may be carried out on either dry materials or slurries. Crushing and grinding are the two primary comminution processes. Crushing is normally carried out on "run-of-mine" ore, while grinding (normally carried out after crushing) may be conducted on dry or slurried material.
Sizing
Sizing is the general term for separation of particles according to size.
The simplest of sizing processes is screening, or passing the particles to be sized through a screen or number of screens. Screening equipment can include grizzlies, bar screens, and wire mesh screens. Screens can be static (typically the case for very coarse material), or they can incorporate mechanisms to shake or vibrate the screen.
Classification refers to sizing operations that exploits the differences in settling velocities exhibited by particles of different size. Classification equipment may include ore sorters, gas cyclones, hydrocyclones, rake classifiers, rotating trommels, or fluidized classifers. When the feed material contains particles of different densities as well as particles of different size, a degree of concentration takes place during classification because settling velocities are also dependent on particle density.
Froth flotation
Froth flotation is achieved when particles are separated based on their surface potential. Hydrophobic particles are recovered to the froth, whereas hydrophilic particles are discharged with the tailings stream. Some mineral particles are naturally hydrophobic, whereas others require specific reagent additions to change their surface potentials. Oxide ores, such as spodumene and tantalite can be treated using oxalic acid based collectors. Sulfide ores can be recovered using xanthate or dithiophosphate type collectors.
Gravity concentration
Particles can be classified based on their specific gravity. Gravity concentration processes include:
Heavy media or dense media separation
Shaking tables, such as the wilfely table
Spiral separators
Centrifugal bowl concentrators
Jig concentrators are continuous processing gravity concentration devices.
Multi gravity separators
Electrostatic separation
Non-conducting particles maintain an electrostatic charge induced electrically, and so remain pinned to a charged drum. Conducting particles do not maintain the electrostatic charge and so fall off the drum, thus minerals such as ilmenite and rutile can be separated.
Magnetic separation
Minerals such as magnetite and pyrrhotite are naturally magnetic, and so can be separated from non-magnetic particles using strong magnets.

Functions of food packaging
Packaging has several objectives: [1]
Physical protection - The food enclosed in the package may require protection from, among other things, shock, vibration, compression, temperature, etc.
Barrier protection - A barrier from oxygen, water vapor, dust, etc., is often required. Permeation is a critical factor in design. Some packages contain desiccants or Oxygen absorbers to help extend shelf life. Modified atmospheres or controlled atmospheres are also maintained in some food packages. Keeping the contents clean, fresh, and safe for the intended shelf life is a primary function.
Containment or agglomeration - Small items are typically grouped together in one package for reasons of efficiency. powders, and granular materials need containment.
Information transmission - Packages and labels communicate how to use, transport, recycle, or dispose of the package or product. Some types of information are required by governments.
Marketing - The packaging and labels can be used by marketers to encourage potential buyers to purchase the product. Package design has been an important and constantly evolving phenomenon for several decades. Marketing communications and graphic design are applied to the surface of the package and (in many cases) the point of sale display.
Security - Packaging can play an important role in reducing the security risks of shipment. Packages can be made with improved tamper resistance to deter tampering and also can have tamper-evident features to help indicate tampering. Packages can be engineered to help reduce the risks of package pilferage: Some package constructions are more resistant to pilferage and some have pilfer indicating seals. Packages may include authentication seals to help indicate that the package and contents are not counterfeit. Packages also can include anti-theft devices, such as dye-packs, RFID tags, or electronic article surveillance tags, that can be activated or detected by devices at exit points and require specialized tools to deactivate. Using packaging in this way is a means of retail loss prevention.
Convenience - Packages can have features which add convenience in distribution, handling, stacking, display, sale, opening, reclosing, use, and reuse.
Portion control - Single serving packaging has a precise amount of contents to control usage. Bulk commodities (such as salt) can be divided into packages that are a more suitable size for individual households. It also aids the control of inventory: selling sealed one-liter-bottles of milk, rather than having people bring their own bottles to fill themselves.

A pair of "white-on-white" low-top Air Force 1's
The Air Force 1 athletic shoe, is a product of Nike, Inc. [1] created by designer Bruce Kilgore. This was the first basketball shoe to use the Nike Air technology[clarification needed].[2]
The name is a reference to Air Force One, the plane that carries the President of the United States. The shoes are sold in three different styles. The two most common are low-top and mid-top, while Nike produces a high-top model which is usually harder to find in many stores. The mid-top and high-top Air Force 1's come with a velcro-securable strap; the mid-top strap is secured to the shoe while the high-top's strap is movable and removable. Although the shoe comes in many different colors and color schemes, the most common Air Force 1's sold are solid white (often referred to as "white-on-white") and solid black colors.
Another identifying characteristic of an Air Force 1 shoe is a small, removable medallion that is secured to the bottom of the laces but has holes on either side so it can be removed by sliding it off of the shoe lace. The medallion is engraved with the inscription "AF-1", with the year "'82" inscribed below it, and has historically been made out of a silver-colored metal (perhaps pewter). Its original design was more circular, but after a redesign for the Air Force 1's 25th anniversary in 2008 the medallion is now rectangular. (The redesign also involved encasing the inscription in white plastic; that was discarded in favor of the original medallion material.)
The Air Force 1 was produced in 1982 and discontinued the following year. It was re-released in 1986 with the modern italic Nike logo with a Swoosh on the bottom on the back of the shoe. Little has changed to the Air Force One since its creation in 1982, although the original stitching on the side panels is no longer present in modern versions of the shoe. Since then, over 1,700 color variations have been produced, bringing in an estimated 800 million USD/year in revenue.[1][3] The selling of the Air Force Ones online by certain retailers is prohibited by Nike who has restricted supply of the sneaker.[4]
Nike Air Force 1s were originally considered the favored shoe of inner-city youth, then hip-hop artists and streetball players. Rappers Nelly and The St. Lunatics collaborated on a 2002 single entitled "Air Force Ones" about the shoes. As a performance shoe, the AF1 is still used for street play as well as for professional play. NBA players Rasheed Wallace and Jerry Stackhouse have used AF1s for games before.
The Air Force 2 shoe introduced in 1987 is a newer variation of the original. The shoe is a typical flat-soled, casual-wear sneaker that can be made in many different variations of colors. Also, Air Force 2s were re-released internationally in the early 2000s. They can be made in either the low-cut or high-top style. The shoe can be custom made in any color, but typically it has either a white or black based background color with almost any color used to fill in the Nike Swoosh and back heel.
The Air Force 3 shoe introduced in 1988 was the the most popular version of Air Force series. It was worn by many basketball players at the time. The Air Force III was more rugged looking and more durable than the previous two versions. The original colorway was white/medium grey/black, however several other colors were introduced shortly after. An actual "Air FORCE" logo was introduced on this model as well, with an image of half of a basketball on the tongue. This logo would be used on the rest of the Air Force series. The Air Force III was re-issued in 2006 in very limited edition of colorways of the high top, and several colorways for the low top version.
The "Air Force STS" (also known as Air Force 4 or Air Force IV) was introduced in 1989. It was regularly worn by David Robinson in his rookie year. The Air Force STS features leopard print and is also slightly higher than the first 3 versions of the Air Force series. The "super high top" would be common for most of the Nike basketball sneakers made from 1989-1994.
The "Air Force 5" was introduced in 1990. The Air Force V was the first model to make the airbag visible on the side heels of the shoe. The most popular colorway was white/medium grey/black/orange. This was also the last original Air Force model to be made.
In 2007, for the 25th anniversary of the original Air Force 1, Nike created the Air Force XXV, which got its inspiration from original Air Force 1 invented in 1982. A commercial for the Air Force XXV included LeBron James, Kobe Bryant, Steve Nash, Shawn Marion, Rasheed Wallace, Tony Parker, Jermaine O'Neal, Amar'e Stoudemire, Chris Paul, and Paul Pierce, featuring the music of Juelz Santana (the Second Coming). Since its introduction, many different Air Force 1s have been designed or inspired by celebrities and athletes. This list includes Keelan Miller, Jay-Z,...(and so on)

The conk was a hairstyle popular among African-American men from the 1920s to the 1960s. This hairstyle called for a man with naturally "kinky" hair to have it chemically straightened using a relaxer (sometimes pure lye), so that the newly straightened hair could be styled in specific ways. Conks were often styled as large pompadours although other men chose to simply slick their straightened hair back, allowing it to lie flat on their heads. Regardless of the styling, conks required a considerable amount of effort to maintain: a man often had to wear a do-rag of some sort at home, to prevent sweat or other agents from causing his hair to revert to its natural state prematurely. Also, the style required repeated application of relaxers; as new hair grew in, it too had to be chemically straightened.
Many of the popular musicians of the early to mid 20th century, including Chuck Berry, Louis Jordan, Little Richard, James Brown, and the members of The Temptations and The Miracles, were well known for sporting the conk hairstyle. The gatefold of the 1968 album Electric Mud shows blues legend Muddy Waters having his hair conked. The style fell out of popularity when the Black Power movement of the 1960s took hold, and the Afro became a popular symbol of African pride.
The conk is all but extinct as a hairstyle among African-American men today, although more mildly relaxed hairstyles such as the Jheri curl and the S-curl were popular during the 1980s and 1990s.
References in popular culture
In Malcolm X's autobiography (and in the Spike Lee movie based upon it), the author describes how he, with the help of his friend Shorty (played by Lee in the movie), conked his hair.
On the television series Sanford and Son, Fred Sanford quoted a jingle from a fictional hair product commercial. "If your hair is short and nappy, Conkaline will make it happy."

fetish glove
Glove fetishism is a fetish where an individual is obsessed and fixated by another or oneself wearing gloves on their hands. In some cases, the fetish is enhanced by the material of the glove, (e.g. leather, cotton, latex, satin or nylon). Often, the actions of a gloved hand are as arousing as the glove itself, because the glove provides a second skin, or in other words a fetishistic surrogate for the wearer's own skin. Subtle movements by the gloved fingers or the hand as a whole can provide the individual with a great visual stimulus and ultimately sexual arousal. The act of putting gloves on, or slipping them off the hands, can also be a source of glove fetish fantasy.
Some glove fetishists prefer certain lengths, for example the opera-style ones or just cuff length. Some also like them as a part of an outfit, such as a nurse, policewoman or French maid.
Apart from their appearance, some individuals go as far as using them on oneself or others as a form of sexual stimulation. The ones most commonly used for this are usually latex gloves, such as those doctors or nurses use for examination, while others prefer the household rubber glove. The appeal behind the household glove may be due to the colours they come in but also offering what the latex examination gloves cannot. The household glove are thicker, some more than others depending on what their use is.

The Copa Mundial (World Cup) soccer shoe was released in 1979 but designed for the 1982 FIFA World Cup. Going through very slight changes since then the Copa is made of a 100% kangaroo leather upper for maximum ball control.[1] The thin leather also forms to the foot and is easy to break in.
In 2007 Adidas put out a 25th anniversary package for the Copa. This limited edition package included a specialized box along with wooden shoe trees, leather polish, a key chain, and a special cloth. The boot was also slightly variated with the "Copa Mundial" writing on the side of the boot being printed in a gold colour.
With the release of the 25th anniversary package Copa Mundial jackets, shirts and other apparel were also released.
Variations to the boot include the Adidas World Cup which has metal screw-in studs for soft ground,as well as a different sole plate.

A Christmas snow globe
A snow globe is a transparent sphere usually made of glass enclosing a miniaturized scene of some sort, often together with a model of a landscape. The sphere also encloses the water in the globe; the water serves as the medium through which the "snow" falls. To activate the snow, the globe is physically shaken to churn up the white particles. The globe is then placed back in its position and the flakes fall down slowly through the water. Snow globes sometimes have a built-in music box that plays a Christmas carol.

History
Precisely when the first snow globe, also called a waterglobe or snowdome, was made remains unclear, but they appear to date from France during the early 1800s. They may have appeared as a successor to the glass paperweight, which became popular a few years earlier. Snow globes appeared at the Paris Universal Expo in 1878, and by 1879, at least five companies were producing snow globes and selling them throughout Europe.

A girl shaking a snow globe.
In 1889, a snow globe containing a model of the newly built Eiffel Tower was produced to commemorate the International Exposition in Paris, which marked the centenary of the French Revolution. This globe quickly became a favourite souvenir for attendees.
Snow globes became popular in England during the Victorian era and, in the early 1920s, crossed the Atlantic to the United States of America where they became a popular collectors item. Many of these globes were produced by Atlas Crystal Works, which had factories in Germany and America.
In the United States, the first snow globe-related patent was granted in 1927 to Joseph Garaja of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. In 1929, Garaja convinced Novelty Pool Ornaments to manufacture a fish version underwater.
In America, during the 1940s, snow globes were often used for advertising. In Europe, during the 1940s and 1950s, religious snow globes were common gifts for Catholic children. Snow globes have appeared in a number of film scenes, the most famous of which is the opening of the 1941 classic Citizen Kane.
In the 1950s the globes, which were previously of glass construction, became available in plastic. Currently, there are many different types of snow globes available. These globes are produced by a number of countries and range from the mass produced versions of Hong Kong and China to the finely crafted types still produced in West Germany. Snow globes feature diverse scenes, ranging from the typical holiday souvenirs to more eclectic collectibles featuring Christmas scenes, Disney characters, popular icons, animals, military figures, historical scenes, etc. Snow globes have even been used for election campaigns.
Production

Religious snowglobes for sale at Vatican City.
Initially snow globes consisted of a heavy lead glass dome which was placed over a ceramic figure or tableau on a black cast ceramic base, filled with water and then sealed. The snow was created by use of bone chips or pieces of porcelain, sand or even sawdust. As they became more sophisticated, the glass became thinner, the bases were lighter (Bakelite was popular during the Art Deco period) and the snow was made out of particles of gold foil or non-soluble soap flakes although nowadays, for health and safety reasons, small pieces of white plastic are used. Later, the liquid was changed to light oil, then water with antifreeze (glycerin or glycol). An added benefit was that glycerin and glycol slowed the descent of the flitter.
Today's snow globes can include music boxes, moving parts, internal lights, and even electric motors that make the "snow" move so that it is no longer necessary to shake the globe. Some also have central slots for positioning items such as photographs.
Forced-air globes
Beginning in 2005, many U.S. stores sell inflatable snow globes as part of their Christmas d闁弌r. These have a base with a blower, forcing air which carries styrofoam pellets from the bottom and through a tube up the back to the top, where they are blown out and fall down inside the front, which is made of transparent vinyl. The rest of the globe, including the characters inside, are made of colorful nylon fabric. These globes are typically large decorations for the front yard, and are lighted internally with a few C7 (nightlight-type) incandescent light bulbs (which enclosed in plastic spheres to prevent heat damage to the fabric).
A variation on this is the "tornado globe", where small foam objects spin around inside a globe. This is more common for Halloween d闁弌r, where foam bats or sometimes ghosts may fly around the Halloween figures in the middle. These...(and so on)

The main frontage and its gilded wrought-iron gates from Jean Lamour.
The castle of Failloux was built in the 18th century. It is located on the commune of Jeuxey in the Vosges departement, northeastern France, a few kilometers of the historical center of 闁渋nal.
The castle of Failloux takes its name from the hamlet where it is, Grande Failloux. Etymologically, the term Failloux would come by the fact that wood which surround the property are leafy trees, not very widespread in an area where the coniferous trees dominate. Although being administratively on the commune of Jeuxey, the site of Failloux is very isolated from the village and is located closer to 闁渋nal. The castle of Failloux has its two pavilions connected ones to the others by series of spades and an ornamented grid signed by the workshops Jean Lamour, realizers of the grids of the Place Stanislas of Nancy.

Introduction
Five centuries of history dominate the site of Failloux. The first reference of the site in the archives goes back to 1445. The historians who studyied on the date of construction of the castle could not succeed in identifying it with certainty. Nevertheless, a document makes it possible to affirm that the castle existed in 1736. The letters of the Duke of Lorraine, Francis III, dated July 3, 1736 setting it up fief of Failloux, indicate among the properties of Mr Masson; 鎼昲ere is a manor house. Fran?ois-L闁沺old Masson thus became first lord of Failloux, and the History could start.
The design features of the Castle of Failloux
This 鎼坅nor house corresponds to the criteria of the castles such as we defined them in the XVIII century, since this residence includes two pavilions, a bell-tower, a park, and dependences. It is thus advisable to speak about the castle of Failloux, as he will be commonly called in various accounts.
The castle

The 26 windows of the principal frontage
The castle is a narrow building, for 24 meters length, it is only 6,50 meters wide for approximately a 8,50 meters height, representing three stages and an attic. Three arched cellars a low height, support the unit. The castle counted at the time of its construction 21 rooms of which one was used to be devoted to a reduced version of real tennis. Some time around 1772, the back of the castle was widened for probable reasons of convenience. Two chimneys 鎾 la royale (with a large mirror above) decorate a living room and a room. In the latter, it is advisable to specify that the plate located at the bottom of the chimney is decorated with a capped blazon of a royal crown and flowers with lily. The main staircase serving the stages is made of spans of only one block on which the 21 steps are relatively low and wide, which lets suppose that one could borrow them with a horse. The iron banister comes from the same workshops as the grids of the entry.
Court of the castle

One of the two pavilions which are located on both sides of the grid of entry. In this one, there is a baker's oven and a smokehouse for pigs.
The court is in form of quadrilateral of 24m on 24m. In the angles, close to the entry, two houses on two levels, the roofs with four covered slate sides are built. That of right-hand side contains on the floor it pigeon house still intact, at the ground floor, one finds there a chimney preserved well, prolonged on the farmyard, it sheltered one baker's oven. Between these two houses, a wall supports a succession of surmounted cylindrical bars of points of spade. Two stone pillars finished by a ballot box, give support to the grids of the door of entry. A stone alley leads to the castle. On its line, a fountain: water comes out a head of a watery god; geometrical ironwork of style like ornament. The whole is overcome by a large urn.
The roof

The bell dated from the 17th century and engraved 鎻揺su Maria located at the top of the roof.
The roof with croups with four sides is covered with slates, and is dominated by a steeple of a bell gone back to 1625, and engraved 鎻揺sus Maria. At the top of this steeple, we distinguishe a crescent. It is probable that this symbol is imported from Othoman culture very popular in the 18th century.
The gates

The gilded wrought iron gates of the Castle, realized by the workshops Jean Lamour, 1st half of the 18th century.
