Plot
The film opens with a flirtatious online conversation between a man and a girl, who agree to meet in person for the first time at the Nighthawks caf. The two are revealed as 14-year old Hayley Stark (Ellen Page) and 32-year old photographer Jeff Kohlver[4] (Patrick Wilson). After further flirtation, Hayley suggests they return to Jeff's house to listen to Jeff's recording of a Goldfrapp concert. Once there, Hayley makes them both screwdrivers after telling Jeff that she would not drink something that she did not mix herself. As they drink, Hayley suggests that Jeff take some photographs of her, similar to the ones of young girls displayed on the walls of his home. As Hayley dances to music on the couch, Jeff begins to feel disoriented and passes out.
Jeff wakes up tied to a wheeled computer chair. Hayley explains she drugged him and then accuses him of being a pedophile. As she searches his house, she discovers letters of correspondence between him and a woman named Janelle, who turns out to be Jeff's ex-girlfriend for whom he still has feelings, as well as photos in a hidden safe in his rock garden. Among them is a picture of Donna Mauer, a local girl who had been kidnapped and remains missing. Jeff denies involvement in Mauer's disappearance before kicking a distracted Hayley to the floor and wheeling himself to his bedroom to get a gun. As he returns, they struggle. Still tied to the chair, he begins to hit her against the wall, but Hayley is able to wrap his head in plastic wrap and asphyxiate him into unconsciousness.
Jeff wakes up tied to a table with a bag of ice on his genitals. Hayley informs Jeff of his impending castration, which she says will be a public service. After a long conversation she then begins composing an e-mail to Janelle. Despite Jeff's attempts to dissuade her through threats, negotiation and pleas for her sympathy, Hayley proceeds with the operation. Following its conclusion, she steps out of the room and Jeff breaks free from his bonds, only to discover that Hayley actually faked the castration. Scalpel in hand, he stalks Hayley to the bathroom, where he is blindsided from behind by Hayley, who shocks him into unconsciousness with an electroshock weapon.
Jeff awakens again, this time standing on a chair with a noose around his neck. Hayley reveals that she has written a fake suicide note on his behalf and offers Jeff a choice between killing himself before being revealed as a sexual predator, or living with the shame and legal consequences of his crimes. Their conversation is interrupted when a neighbor (Sandra Oh) knocks on the door. Hayley answers and convinces the neighbor that she is Jeff's niece, and that everything is fine. When Hayley returns, Jeff breaks free from the noose and pursues her to the roof, where she has created another noose, and holds him off with the gun. Hayley reveals that she has contacted Janelle, who is driving to the house. She offers him the choice of committing suicide, or she will pull off her own clothes and run into Janelle's arms crying. He finally confesses to Hayley that he was involved in Donna Mauer's death, but he claims that he only watched while his accomplice committed the murder. Jeff tells Hayley that, if she will spare his life, he will disclose the other man's name and help her find him. Hayley reveals that she already knows that "Aaron", the other man who Jeff claims to have killed Mauer, told her the same thing before killing himself. Janelle is outside the house now, knocking and calling for Jeff, while Hayley reminds Jeff that he still has the option of killing himself to avoid...(and so on)

Biography
Grant Bond was born and raised in Kansas City, Kansas. His love for art was a predominate fixture in his youth and early adult life due to the support and influence of his grandmother. He studied under Russian painter Sergei Davydov (artist) for many years. Bond has credited comic creator Ande Parks for personally sparking an early interest of his in creating comics. He left the creative world behind to successfully manage a business for most of the 1990s. In late 2006 he returned to comics with his first book Revere: Revolution in Silver originally published with Alias Enterprises. As a relative newcomer to comics, Bond's animation-influenced art style has already amassed a heavy fan base.
In 2007 Bond illustrated a comic book adaptation of the 2008 movie Trick 'r Treat,[3] which will be published by DC/Wildstorm.
In 2007 he illustrated his first creator owned title, Archibald Saves Christmas, a one-shot which was written by Dwight L. MacPherson and published by Shadowline.[4]

Gray's
subject #123
The rotator cuff (rotor cuff) is an anatomical term given to the group of muscles and their tendons that act to stabilize the shoulder. Along with the teres major and the deltoid, the four muscles of the rotator cuff make up the six scapulohumeral (those that connect to the humerus and scapula and act on the glenohumeral joint) muscles of the human body.

Function
The rotator cuff muscles are important in shoulder movements and in maintaining glenohumeral joint (shoulder joint) stability. [1]These muscles arise from the scapula and connect to the head of the humerus forming a cuff at the shoulder joint. They hold the head of the humerus in the small and shallow glenoid fossa of the scapula. The glenohumeral joint is often likened to a golf ball(head of the humerus) sitting on a golf tee(glenoid fossa). During abduction of the arm, the rotator cuff compresses the glenohumeral joint in order to allow the large deltoid muscle to further elevate the arm. In other words, without the rotator cuff, the humeral head would ride up partially out of the glenoid fossa, lessening the efficiency of the deltoid muscle. During flexion of the arm infraspinatus and subscapularis act as joint stabilizers. During extension subscapularis and supraspinatus help stabilize the shoulder joint. Subscapularis stabilizes the joint during external rotation.[1]

The mnemonic 'SITS', sometimes written 'SItS' as an additional hint that the teres minor is a member, is often used to remember the four muscles of the rotator cuff.[2]
Injuries
Rotator cuff tear
Main article: Rotator cuff tear
The tendons at the ends of the rotator cuff muscles can become torn, leading to pain and restricted movement of the arm. A torn rotator cuff can occur following a trauma to the shoulder or it can occur through "wear and tear" of the tendons (most commonly that of the supraspinatus) under the acromion. It is an injury frequently sustained by athletes whose duties involve making repetitive throws, such as baseball pitchers, American football quarterbacks, volleyball (due to their swinging motions), water polo players, swimmers, boxers, kayaking, fast bowlers in cricket, and tennis players (due to their service motion). This type of injury also commonly affects conductors (music), choral conductor, orchestral conductor, due to the swinging motions and other movements used to lead their ensemble. It is commonly associated with motions that require repeated overhead motions or forceful pulling motions.
Rotator cuff impingement
A systematic review of relevant research found that the accuracy of the physical examination is low.[3] The Hawkins-Kennedy test[4][5] has a sensitivity of approximately 80% to 90% for detecting impingement. The infraspinatus and supraspinatus[6] tests have a specificity of 80% to 90%.[3]
Treatment
Reduce pain and swelling
As with all muscle injuries, R.I.C.E. is the modality recommended by physicians, DOs, physical therapists, athletic trainers, and chiropractors.[citation needed]
Rest means ceasing movement of the affected area.
Icing uses ice to reduce inflammation.
Compression limits the swelling.
Elevation involves placing the area higher to reduce inflammation and swelling.
Cold compression therapy is very useful for all muscle tears and strains as it reduces pain and swelling. Using a cold compression therapy wrap for 15 minutes before sleeping can aid in reducing the pain that causes restless sleep.[citation needed]
Strengthening
The rotator cuff can be strengthened to rehabilitate shoulder injuries, and prevent future ones. There are different exercises to target the individual rotator cuff muscles.

John Alexander Brodie (1858 1934) was a British civil engineer.[1]
Brodie began his professional career in 1875 working in the Mersey Docks and Harbour Board engineering department under Chief Engineer George Fosbery Lyster, following this he set up a private consultancy and spent some time working in Spain.[1] In 1891 he invented the goal net for use in football matches and he said that this was the invention of which he was the most proud.[2] [3] Brodie returned to Liverpool in 1898 as the city engineer suggesting several improvements for the town such as a ring road, electric trams and the East Lancashire Road.[1]
He was at the fore front of pre-fabricated housing technology promoting the use of pre-cast reinforced concrete slabs as a means of building houses quickly and cheaply, he presented an example of this technique to the Cheao Cottages Exhibition at Letchworth where many examples of this kind of building can be found to this day. The design attracted attention from across the world and he is known to have influenced Grosvenor Atterbury who used a similar technique to build the houses at Forest Hills Gardens.[1]
Brodie was also interested in town planning and this was recognised in 1912 when he was asked to help select the site of and plan New Delhi. He visited India twice for this purpose and in 1931 was invited to the official opening ceremony by the Viceroy owing to the high regard that Edwin Lutyens, the chief planner had for him.[1]
He served as president of the Institution of Civil Engineers between 1920 and 1921,[4] becoming the first local authority engineer to receive the accolade[1]. He was also an Associate Professor of Engineering at Liverpool University and vice-president of the Liverpool Self-Propelled Traffic Association which would later become a constituent of the Royal Automobile Club.[1]
After his death in 1934 Liverpool City Council named Brodie Avenue in his honour.[5]

Team Hoyt is a father (Dick Hoyt, b. ca. 1940) and son (Rick Hoyt, b. 1962) in Massachusetts who compete together in marathons, triathlons, and other athletic endeavors. Rick has cerebral palsy, caused by loss of oxygen to his brain at birth because his umbilical cord was wrapped around his neck. Dick pulls him in a special boat as they swim, carries him in a special seat up front as they bike, and pushes him in a special wheelchair as they run.
Doctors told his parents that Rick would live in a vegatative state, but his parents, with the help of Tufts University engineers, recognized that his sense of humor indicated intelligence. At the age of 12, Rick was able to learn how to use a special computer to communicate using movements from his head. The first words he typed were, "Go Bruins!", and the family learned he was a sports fan. They entered their first race in 1977, a 5 mile benefit run for an injured lacrosse player who was a schoolmate of Rick's.
Dick is a retired Lieutenant Colonel in the Air National Guard. Rick earned a college degree from Boston University in special education, and now works at Boston College. They continue to compete in races, and are also motivational speakers.
As of August 31, 2008, Team Hoyt had participated in a total of 984 events, including 229 Triathlons (6 of which were Ironman competitions), 20 Duathlons, and 66 Marathons, including 26 Boston Marathons.[1] They have also biked and run across the USA, in 1992 a 3,735 mile journey that took them 45 days.
When asked what one thing Rick wished he could give his father, his reply was "The thing I'd most like is that my dad would sit in the chair and I would push him once."

Birth
It all started when Rick Hoyt was diagnosed with cerebral palsy, a condition that occurs when oxygen to the brain is blocked during the birth process. t means the brain can send the correct messages to his muscles [2]. Since Rick was coming out face up instead of a normal face down delivery, the doctors tried to manipulate the baby, a measure that put the lives of both the mother and baby in danger. Consequently, the umbilical cord became twisted around the baby neck which caused the blockage of oxygen flow [7].
Many doctors encouraged the Hoyts to institutionalize the baby at the young age of nine months, informing them that he would be nothing more than a egetable [2]. Rick mother, Judy Hoyt, once proclaimed, here is no way we will ever put our son away. We love him. He is ours. We will work with him and bring him to the place where he can reach his greatest potential. We will never, never put him away simply because he is different [7]. Rick parents held on to the fact that Rick eyes would follow them around the room, giving them hope that he would somehow be able to communicate some day [2]. The Hoyts took Rick every week to Children Hospital in Boston where they met Doctor Fitzgerald. He encouraged the Hoyts to experience isks with little Rick by taking him sledding, rolling him down a grassy hill or taking him swimming. In other words, they were to reat him like any other child. Judy spent hours each day teaching Rick the alphabet with sandpaper letters and posting signs on every object in the house. In a short amount of time, Rick learned the alphabet [7].
Breakthrough
They pushed to have him educated in public schools but the authorities would not allow it because they felt he had no way to communicate [4]. Eventually they proved them wrong. When he turned 11, Rick mom and dad took him to Tuft University to the engineering department to see if there was something they could ig up that would help Rick communicate. Initially, the answer was an abrupt, o way. The persistent parents asked the engineers to tell him a joke. When they did, the young boy laughed. It was obvious that Rick understood and had a world inside him that was aching to come out and explore [2]. Eventually, the engineers developed a cursor for a computer that was attached to Rick head, one of the only parts of his body he can voluntarily move despite the cerebral palsy, and allowed Rick to activate a touch pad to communicate. he engineers named it the Tufts Interactive Communicator. or, for short, TIC. But, for clear and obvious reasons, the Hoyt family referred to it as The Hope Machine [7]. Initially, in order to build the computer, the engineers needed $5,000. The Hoyts set out to raise the money, no little feat in 1972, but they met their goal [4]. A door was opened and soon Rick was peaking [2]. He also got into school [4].

Antique satin refers to any 5 or 8 harness (shaft) satin weave that uses slubed or unevenly spun yarns in the weft (filling). It is usually an upholstery-weight fabric and can be made using silk, rayon or acetate in the warp and coarser cotton or manmade fibers in the weft (filling). It is a satin-faced version of Shantung or Duppioni. The name refers to the fabric's handspun and hand woven appearance.

The source for this article is my own personal experience having started in the industry in 1960 and learning about it from work and distributing fabrics for two jobbers
Antique Satin was developed in the 1950s by combining acetate (warp threads) and rayon (filling threads)mainly as a decorative fabric used primarily for draperies. Unlike wedding satin with the shiny weave visible, antique satin is comprised of small slubs or textures on the face. The yarn most popular was known as 19/2 ply, meaning 19 threads to the inch woven as a two ply thread to create an attractive silk-like appearance. The popular, quality style is 48" wide and first appeared in limited colors. In the late 1950s a company named Penco Fabrics, owned by Jack Penzer, and based at the drapery building, 261 Fifth Avenue, NY, NY, introduced antique satin in 101 colors, virtually revolutionizing the industry. The fabric was copied by others including Fame Fabrics and Richloom, a major supplier today, and by 1963 achieved major distribution throughout the United States. Selling at the mill level for $.59 to $.79 a yard, whether in the natuaral off-white, undyed, fabric to black and colored warp yards with an irridescent effect at the higher price points, the fabric in its basic form remains somewhat popular today.

EON FM: The Birth of Commercial FM Radio
In late 1979, a consortium, members of which included recording entrepreneur Bill Armstrong, band manager Glenn Wheatley and stockbroker Bill Conn, successfully bid on one of two Melbourne FM licenses and set about creating a commercial FM radio station. Armstrong headed the consortium, having seen the commercial opportunities of FM radio in the US and the UK.
Despite what their license application read, they had no blueprint at all with regard to marketing, programming, administration or promotion. The next six months was then spent building a radio station from scratch. A makeshift studio was set up in Bank Street, South Melbourne, draped with hessian to deaden the noise. Late-night dummy runs were performed a week before the on-air date to test the equipment.
On July 11, 1980, Australia first commercial FM radio station, EON FM, began broadcasting on 92.3 MHz,[3] beating Fox FM to the title by two weeks.[4] Behind the microphone at the momentous occasion was ex-3XY (a popular radio station at the time; now defunct) DJ Peter Grace, who later said he was given that late night spot by default.[5] "It's one past midnight and this is 92.3, E-O-N FM, I'm Peter Grace and this is the beginning of a long, long time..." The first song was "New Kid in Town" by The Eagles.
Armstrong was the first managing director; Clyde Simpson, the first general manager; Lee Simon, also ex-3XY, the first program director; Billy Pinnell, first music programmer all names to circulate the Australian music industry for years. Other announcers included Karl Van Est, Joe Miller, John Peters, Andy McLean, Jan Cannon, Kenny The Paper-Boy, Kent Forbes, John Hood, Gavin Wood, Trish Mulholand and Mark Irvine. News reader Jennifer Keyte also began her career as a cadet at EON-FM.[6] At first, EON FM played songs that ould not be played elsewhere, having no play list and avoiding top 40 songs. Said Armstrong, "we thought we were going to be the beginning of a new era. It took us a while to realise we were wrong."
EON FM performed better than the other non-commercial FM stations, but was easily beaten by the AM stations. Management was worried, and shareholders were asked to invest another $1 million between them only a year after the station was launched.
Program Director, Lee Simon then went against the flow of the album rock formats favoured by Australia's FM stations and radically changed EON's format by playing Top 40 hits and staging outdoor concerts. Molly Meldrum, host of Countdown, was even invited to do a regular breakfast spot with Gavin Wood, the voice-over man of Countdown. Gavin and Molly's partnership included a segment of their own version of the crime fighters "Batman and Robin". They even appeared in the Moomba procession as the crime fighting duo in the Batmobile. The combination of Gavin and Molly proved to be a ratings winner when finally in 1985, EON FM topped Melbourne ratings. The station's distinctive blue-and-yellow 92.3 EON-FM bumper stickers soon became a familiar sight throughout Melbourne. In early 1986, 3EON FM was sold to Triple M Sydney (2MMM), owned by Hoyts, for $37.5 million.[4] The deal was reportedly negotiated by Wheatley, who subsequently became managing director of Hoyts Media.[7] The station was rebranded 3MMM on November 27, 1988,[3] and was moved to the current frequency.
Triple M Melbourne
In 1987, a new style of breakfast show had begun taking shape on 3MMM featuring a team of comedians known as The D-Generation. With a successful sketch show on ABC TV behind them and initially hired in 1986 by Lee Simon to write comedy pieces for The John Peters Breakfast Show, the team of Tom Gleisner (1986-92), Santo Cilauro...(and so on)

(Redirected from Portable Appliance Test)
A Portable Appliance Tester or PAT, in the United Kingdom is a process by which electrical appliances are routinely checked to see whether they are safe. The correct term for the whole process is In-service Inspection & Testing of Electrical Equipment.
When people work with electrical appliances, health and safety regulations say that the appliance must be safe. Many types of equipment require testing at regular intervals to ensure continual safety; the interval between tests depending on both the type of appliance and the environment it is used in.
In the UK, the resulting evidence of Portable Appliance Testing (commonly known as PAT or PAT Testing) is clearly visible to workers in the form of 'Passed' , 'Tested For Electrical Safety' and 'DO NOT USE after' labels affixed to various parts of the electrical equipment they use.

Name
Portable Appliance Testing is abbreviated to PAT. The phrase PAT Testing is in fact a tautology, in the same way that some people say "LCD Display" (see also RAS syndrome). However, the phrase is commonly used in the industry, even though most people realise it is incorrect. The correct term for the whole process is In-service Inspection & Testing of Electrical Equipment.
Legal
Regulations on who must have their equipment PAT Tested
The Electricity at Work Regulations (1989) requires "All electrical systems shall be maintained so as to prevent, so far as is reasonably practicable, any danger". This is interpreted as covering the fixed electrical installation as well as portable and transportable equipment connected to it. The Regulations also state "It is the duty of every employer and self employed person to comply with the provision of these Regulations."
British law (the Electricity at Work Regulations 1989 in particular) requires that all electrical systems (including electrical appliances) are maintained (so far as is reasonably practicable) to prevent danger. Guidance from the Institution of Electrical Engineers (IEE) and the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) suggest initial intervals for combined inspection and testing that range from three months (for construction equipment) to five years for inspection and, in many cases, never for testing (certain types of appliance in schools, hotels, offices and shops). [1]
Electrical systems refer to the installation as well as all the appliances connected to it. A qualified electrician would normally inspect the installation at periodic intervals. For an office, this is typically every 5 years and for say a hotel where the risk may be higher, it may need to be done annually. The maintenance of the appliances can largely be carried out in-house in many organisations. This can result in cost savings and more flexibility in when PAT testing is carried out.
The European Low Voltage Directive governs the manufacture or importation of electrical appliances. Compliance to this has to be declared and indicated by the display of the CE mark on the product. The responsibility for this lies with the manufacturer or the importer and is policed by the Trading Standards. However, it is important to have a maintenance regime for electrical appliances. The Electricity at Work Regulations (1989) requires that electrical appliances be maintained so that they remain safe during use. The implementation of this is up to employers. The HSE or the local authority is responsible for the policing of this.
Who can PAT Test
It is not a legal requirement to have attended a course or gained a qualification in order to PAT Test. If you are a competent person and have a basic knowledge of electricity then you can be perfectly capable of testing appliances for electrical safety. It is, however, recommended that an individual wanting to PAT Test attends a course related to the subject matter. There can be much confusion on what needs PAT Testing, what class an appliance is (and therefore which areas to test), and how often appliances legally need to be tested. Proof of a company competence in PAT Testing is usually found in the form of a course certificate or qualification.
Carrying out PAT Testing
This can be done by hiring an external company to test all the electrical products in a business or it can be done in-house by someone who has had some PAT training, either by an official qualification or by attending a health and safety course offered by some electrical health and safety companies.
The following steps are taken when testing a businesses electrical equipment.

Molten salt secondary (rechargeable) battery, Museum Autovision, Altlu?heim
Molten salt batteries are a class of primary cell and secondary cell high temperature electric battery that use molten salts as an electrolyte. They offer both a higher energy density through the proper selection of reactant pairs as well as a higher power density by means of a high conductivity molten salt electrolyte. They are used in services where high energy density and high power density are required. These features make rechargeable molten salt batteries a promising technology for powering electric vehicles. Operating temperatures of 400 to 700, however, bring problems of thermal management and safety, and place more stringent requirements on the rest of the battery components. Some newer designs operate at a lower temperature range of 270350 .

Primary cells
Referred to as thermal batteries the electrolyte is solid and inactive at normal ambient temperatures. Thermally activated (hermal) batteries were conceived by the Germans during WW II and were used in the V-2 rockets. Dr. Georg Otto Erb is credited with developing the molten-salt battery that used the heat of the rocket to keep the salt liquid during its mission. The technology was brought back to the United States in 1946 and was immediately adapted to replace the troublesome liquid-based systems that had previously been used in artillery proximity fuzes. These batteries have been used for ordnance applications (e.g., proximity fuzes) since World War II and, subsequent to that, in nuclear weapons. They are the primary power source for many missiles such as the AIM-9 Sidewinder, MIM-104 Patriot, BGM-71 TOW, BGM-109 Tomahawk and others. In these batteries the electrolyte is immobilized when molten by a special grade of magnesium oxide that holds it in place by capillary action. This powdered mixture is pressed into pellets to form a separator between the anode and cathode of each cell in the battery stack. As long as the electrolyte (salt) is solid, the battery is inert and remains inactive. Each cell also contains a pyrotechnic heat source which is used to heat the cell to the typical operating temperature of 400 - 550C.
There are two types of design. One uses a fuze strip (containing barium chromate and powdered zirconium metal in a ceramic paper) along the edge of the heat pellets to initiate burning. The fuze strip is typically fired by an electrical igniter or squib by application of electric current through it. The second design uses a center hole in the middle of the battery stack into which the high-energy electrical igniter fires a mixture of hot gases and incandescent particles. The center-hole design allows much faster activation times (tens of milliseconds) vs. hundreds of milliseconds for the edge-strip design. Battery activation can also be accomplished by a percussion primer, similar to a shotgun shell. It is desired that the pyrotechnic source be gasless. The standard heat source typically consist of mixtures of iron powder and potassium perchlorate in weight ratios of typically 88/12, 86/14, and 84/16. The higher the potassium perchorate level, the higher the heat output (nominally 200, 259, and 297 calories/gram, respectively).
This property of unactivated storage has the double benefit of avoiding deterioration of the active materials during storage and at the same time it eliminates the loss of capacity due to self-discharge until the battery is called into use. They can thus be stored indefinitely (over 50 years) yet provide full power in an instant when it is required. Once activated, they provide a high burst of power for a short period (a few tens of seconds) to over 60 minutes or more, with power output ranging from a few watts to several kilowatts. The high power capability is due to the very high ionic conductivity of the molten salt, which is three orders of magnitude or more greater than that of sulfuric acid in a lead-acid car battery. Older thermal batteries used calcium or magnesium anodes, with cathodes of calcium chromate or vanadium or tungste oxides, but lithium-alloy anodes replaced these in the 1980s, with lithium-silicon alloys being favored over the older lithium-aluminum alloys. The corresponding cathode for use with the lithium-alloy anodes is mainly iron disulfide (pyrite) with cobalt disulfide being used for high-power applications. The electrolyte is normally a eutectic mixture of lithium chloride and potassium chloride. More recently, other lower-melting, eutectic electrolytes based on lithium bromide, potassium bromide, and lithium chloride or lithium fluoride have also been used to provide longer operational lifetimes; they are also better conductors. The so-called "all-lithium" electrolyte based on lithium chloride, lithium bromide, and lithium fluoride (no...(and so on)

Company history
Dennis "Chip" Wilson founded lululemon athletica (usually referred to simply as "lululemon", "lulu") in 1998 in response to increased female participation in sports and in accordance with his belief in yoga as the optimal way to maintain athletic excellence into an advanced age. Wilson had previously made a foray into the sportswear business by setting up Westbeach Sports in 1979.
Wilson opened the first lululemon store in the Vancouver neighbourhood of Kitsilano: it included a design-studio/retail-store. It also shared space with a fledgling yoga-studio. As of August 2008, there were 40 lululemon athletica stores across Canada, 38 stores and showrooms in the United States and seven stores and showrooms in Australia. The company continues to expand: it expects to open approximately 60 locations across Canada and the United States over the next[update] two years.
Lululemon has a subsidiary company called OQOQO which focuses on clothing made from sustainable fabrics. OQOQO has a flagship store located in Vancouver and some OQOQO pieces are carried in lululemon stores across Canada and the US.
In 2005, Advent International (partnered with Highland Capital Partners), a U.S. private equity firm, bought a 48% minority interest in lululemon for a reported CAD $225 million, and former Reebok chief executive officer Robert Meers became the new lululemon CEO. Wilson, the founder, now has 42% ownership, with retail-staff owning 10% in stocks and shares. The company formed a partnership with Descente of Japan, to oversee lululemon's Japanese operations. However in mid 2008, lululemon closed its Japanese operations (three stores) to focus on the North American market.
lululemon athletica announced an initial public offering in May 2007 and became a public company on July 27, 2007. Chip Wilson rang the opening bell on the Nasdaq exchange in the United States that day [4].
The Retail Council of Canada recognized the company as the 2003 Innovative Retailer of the Year in its "small store" classification.[5]
Corporate philosophy and practices
lululemon has its main factory in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. In 2004 production expanded outside Canada and currently[update] takes place in factories in the United States, China, Israel, Taiwan, India, Thailand, Peru and Indonesia.
lululemon athletica offers free yoga-classes, health-benefits and growth-opportunities, etc., to its employees. Controversially,[6] the company also pays for management-staff and other employees who have worked for the company for over a year to attend the Landmark Forum.
Unlike fashion-stores, lululemon athletica tends to downplay its role as a clothing-retailer. It refers to its sales-staff as "educators"; to consultative selling as "educating"; and to its garments as "components" to improve personal well-being.
In addition to its promotion of health-consciousness and environmental awareness, lululemon athletica strongly encourages employees to adopt the corporate philosophy, which endorses the Law of Attraction, The Secret (2006 film), and other products or philosophies informed by the 1960s human potential movement.
Lululemon fabrics
While lululemon uses a variety of fabrics in its clothing, it offers three "core" fabric types:
Luon, a nylon/lycra blend that has a matte appearance, as opposed to the shine of most nylon/lycra blends. Luon appears in the lululemon's characteristic yoga-pants, and also in jackets and in tops. Some garments feature a lighter-weight luon called "lullure". A selected number of jackets use a "brushed" luon.
Silverescent. The technology aims to add anti-static, anti-bacterial and anti-odour properties to the garment. Silverescent features in a variety of lululemon shirts, tank-tops, and socks....(and so on)

A Charlie Brown Christmas (1965) is the first of many prime-time animated TV specials based upon the comic strip Peanuts, by Charles M. Schulz. It was produced and directed by former Warner Bros. and UPA animator Bill Meldez, who also supplied the voice for the character of Snoopy. Initially sponsored by Coca-Cola, the special aired on CBS from its debut in 1965 through 2000, and has aired on ABC since 2001. For many years it aired only annually, but is now telecast at least twice during the Christmas season. The special has been honored with both an Emmy and Peabody award.
A Charlie Brown Christmas is also one of CBS's most successful specials, airing annually more times on that network than even The Wizard of Oz. Oz was shown thirty-one times on CBS, but not consecutively; between 1968 and 1976, NBC aired the special.

Synopsis
On their way to join the rest of the Peanuts gang all skating on a frozen pond, Charlie Brown confides in Linus that even though the holidays are approaching he is still feels depressed despite all the presents and cards and tree decorating. His depression and aggravation only get exacerbated by the goings-on in the neighborhood. Though his mailbox is empty of Christmas cards, he tries sarcastically to thank Violet for the card she "sent" him, though Violet says she didn't send him a card.
Charlie Brown (shouting after Violet as she walks away):Don't you know sarcasm when you hear it?
Ultimately Charlie Brown visits Lucy in her psychiatric booth. On her advice, he gets involved in directing a school play about the Nativity. She also sympathizes with Charlie Brown about holiday depression, always getting "a lot of stupid toys" instead of what she really wants: real estate.
On the way to the auditorium, Charlie Brown is drawn to Snoopy, who is frantically and gleefully busy decorating his doghouse. After Charlie Brown demands an explanation, Snoopy hands him a flier about a neighborhood lights and display contest. Charlie Brown walks away in frustration at his own dog being bitten by the commercial bug. He then gets accosted by Sally, who wants Charlie Brown to take dictation for a letter to Santa, in which she ultimately asks him (Santa) to "just send money", particularly tens and twenties, causing Charlie Brown to run away in exasperation of even his sister's commercial corruption.
Charlie Brown arrives at the rehearsals, but try as he might, he cannot seem to get control of the situation as the uncooperative kids are more interested in modernizing the play with dancing and lively music. Charlie Brown, on the other hand, is determined to not let the play become commercial by directing the traditional side of the story.
Thinking the play requires "the proper mood", Charlie Brown decides they need a Christmas tree. So Lucy takes over the crowd and dispatches Charlie Brown to get a "big, shiny aluminum tree...maybe painted pink". With Linus in tow, Charlie Brown sets off on his quest. But when they get to the tree market, Charlie Brown zeroes in on a small baby tree which, ironically as well as symbolically, is the only real tree on the lot. Linus displays surprise upon seeing the tree and exclaims, "Gee, do they still make wooden Christmas trees? Linus is reluctant about Charlie Brown's choice of this tree, but Charlie Brown is convinced that decorating it will be just right for the play.
They return to the school auditorium with the tree, only to be verbally castigated by everyone, especially Lucy, about his choice of tree. Second guessing himself, Charlie Brown begins to wonder if he really knows what Christmas is about, loudly asking in despair. Linus quietly says he can tell him, and walks to center stage to make his point. Under a spotlight, Linus quotes Scripture, particularly the second chapter of the Gospel of Luke, verses 8 through 14:
"'8And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. 9And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid. 10And the angel said unto them,...(and so on)
